The Series is comprised of three supplemental Readers developed to tell a more complete story of America’s history and the thinking of the Founding Fathers as they wrote the nation’s founding documents. The first two Readers, The U.S. Constitution Reader and Freedom in America, Part 1: Through 1865, have been completed and are available in print and digital versions. The third Reader, Freedom in America, Part 2: 1865-Present, is currently in development.

The Freedom in America Series uses a standards-based approach to help teachers align their instruction to a wide spectrum of state social studies programs. It includes projects that can be completed as part of U.S. Constitution Day observances or throughout the year. Print and digital versions are available in both Student and Teacher Editions.
